After a week of downpours and flooding we've finally got Elsie Alice on the water.

Here are some photos of the boat 'dressed' to look finished. She's nearly there...

Kitchen unit paint

We've started painting the kitchen units, green as a base colour to pull everything together with different colours on doors and drawer fronts.

Washbasin

The Hanex composite worksurface will look great on this vanity unit against the pink wall. (The green will end up being a little lighter and milkier like the sample.)

Blue dressers

Here are the dressers painted up. Lovely colour!

Bathroom

The bathroom is coming along.  Next job is the vanity unit and washbasin.  Then the towel rail can go on.

Dressers

Here are the lovely dressers either side of the front doors.  They'll be painted dark duck egg blue and have beech surfaces to compliment the kitchen work surfaces.

Cross stitch

Here's the sample piece for the dresser doors inspired by Pinterest. Had to stop the cross stitch before all the holes were used as I ran out of time but I know the finished pieces on the boat will look really great.

Cupcake bathroom

Its difficult to get the full effect of the candy pink bathroom wall from this photo. It's bubblicious!

Interior is all white

The interior painting is now done and the boat is now dazzlingly bright inside!

White

Here's the first coat of white on the interior

Interior stage 1 complete

The initial construction is complete and the interior has been cleared out ready to be sprayed white. After that we will start constructing the kitchen units and dressers, install the radiators and finish the bathroom.

Lounge detailing

The partial bulkhead between the dinette and the kitchen ties together the interior and will have elegant trim and detailing like the bed box, all painted in white eggshell.

Bathroom progress

The bulkheads are all in now and Toby is working on the bathroom furniture. Here is the washbasin vanity unit which will be painted moss green with a top of white Hanex composite.

Bed box

Dave has nearly finished constructing the bed box with it elegant curved trim.

Portholes

The portholes are nearly all on now. This means we can fully line the interior and then spray it all white.

Bedroom

The rooms are coming along very well. We've built the bed box with decorative surround. Just working on a similar partial bulkhead to separate the kitchen from the lounge.

Vintage style formica for dinette

Here's the sample of the 100th anniversary edition Formica we're using for the dinette table and door fronts.

Ceiling and walls

The ceiling is up and the walls are lined, now it's time to start building the room spaces. This is a chance to really get a feel for how the interior will look and work as a home.

Lining out

The boat is nearly lined out now, the panels have been primed and painted with one coat but we'll spray the interior once the initial lining stages are complete.

Portholes

The portholes have arrived.

We've marked out sockets lights and switches and started wiring Elsie Alice.

Back in the workshop

Elise Alice is back in the joinery area and we'll start work on her interior this week.

Matt has done the detailing along the top of the cabin sides and painted the coachlines. He's working on the roof and decks today.
